On Rinnovabili.it the colors of the desert, from the Sahara to the atmospheric observatory of Mount Curcio

The measurements of particulate matter conducted at the Mount Curcio atmospheric observatory have recently shown an important incidence, both in frequency and magnitude, of events associated with the transport of Saharan sand.

The CNR-IIA illustrated the reasons for this data to Rinnovabili.it, recalling how the Monte Curcio station represents one of the more than one hundred active regional stations distributed on a global scale of the monitoring network of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW), a program of ‘World Meteorological Organization (WMO) which has as its objective the evaluation of the “state of health” of the atmosphere, through the long-term acquisition of observational data on the chemical composition and physical characteristics of the atmosphere.
